Content & History:
The scrapbook was made by Bernadine Ruth Sunderlin (1919-1973) of Iowa. She was the daughter of Rev. Marion Lee Sunderlin (1885-1974) and Mabel Grace Jordan Sunderlin (1883–1971). The scrap book contains a total of seventy-one pages containing numerous letters, photographs, postcards, playbills, ephemera, and some newspaper articles. Much of the material is from USO posts Sunderlin worked at located in Waynesville, Missouri; Rapid City, South Dakota; Evansville & Marshall, Indiana; and Table Grove, Illinois. There is also some content from Chicago, Philadelphia and New York City during visits while working for the USO.
Condition
: The leather string binding is loose and twenty-six pages have detached. There is some debris related to the disintegration of pages, and some soiling, etc.
