WWII Small Grouping Insignia & Papers Military Government Officer

This is a small grouping belonging to a U.S. Military Government Officer from WWII, Major Frank W. Crimp.  In this grouping there is a notable letter sent to Major Crimp, dated December 23, 1946, from a Mr. Henrik Widawski, the then Mayor of Lichtenfels, Germany who was a Jewish survivor of the Nazi Concentration Camps.  The letter reads:
Dear Mr. Crimp,
I, Henrik Widawski and my family are Jews and after several years in Nazi-concentration-Camps liberated by the American troops and still now supplied with food and all necesseties of life by American authorities, allow to send you and your family our best greatings and wishes for Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
The letter is signed by Henrik Widawski and stamped that it was received on December 24.  It is remarkable to read that a Jewish survivor of the concentration camps was able to become the Mayor of a German town so soon after the war had ended.
Also included in the grouping are two silk armbands, both in good condition with minor fraying and discoloration; United States Army and Navy Manual of CIVIL AFFAIRS MILITARY GOVERNMENT; four Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force (SHAEF) patches, one being a very nice German theater made patch with gold bullion; three small photos (two are 3" x 2.5", one is 4.25" x 3"); Army Service Forces Manual - Civil Affairs Handbook GERMANY; additional paperwork and other items belonging to Major Crimp.
