RARE WWII German Soldier Photo Posed With Rifle, Wearing Spike Helmet With Police Insignia ?
DESCRIPTION:
RARE dated, WWII German photo of soldier with rifle, wearing spike helmet with what appears to be a police (Polezei) insignia. Hard to make out, but sure looks like Polezei. Definitely a spike helmet. Left over from WWI or just something used by the Polezei?? Definitely an interesting transition item between the wars.
A very early WWII item, dated 1934 on the back. VERY EARLY IN THE GERMAN MOBILIZATION, AND 5 YEARS BEFORE THE INVASION OF POLAND. Also other writing/identification on the back.
Excellent posed outside photo in uniform. Nice also with the rifle being held and ammunition belt. A GREAT PHOTO EVEN IF NOT FROM A POLICE UNIT!!
Photo is in excellent condition.
