Prince custom Replica One-eyed Bass modeled after the Warwick Thumb Bass.  This one just instantly reminds me of Larry Graham's slap style! Small-bodied but huge toned, the Thumb is an essential Warwick model that’s used by many of the world’s best bassists. I love the stripped-down, naturally ergonomic feel of the body. It’s easy to play sitting or standing and contours to your body nicely. The sound of this bass – fueled by two potent active pickups – is punchy and direct. It can wear a whole lot of different hats depending on your playing style and how you tweak the EQ – you’ll find this model in the hands of the funkiest of the funky.  This is not mass-produced by Schecter, the way the Cloud guitar has been.
This has always been a great design, and my luthier did an amazing job on this replica!  This 4-string replica of a Warwick Thumb sports an awesome white finish and amazing airbrushed EYE, which incorporates the pickups as part of the design.   Attention to detail on the fretboard was great, to match the black piano keys look of Prince's One-eyed bass. Electronically, this bass is decked out with two active MEC J/J pickups wired to a great preamp. Features include maple wood construction, 26-fret neck, 2-piece bridge system, similar to what Warwick uses on their gear, along with chrome hardware and D'Addario flatwound bass strings for even more of that BOTTOM sound Prince referred to as "BASE.  Not b.a.s.s., that's a fish."  Action is set very low for slapping or plucking.  The strap is from the same company who made Prince's strap back in the early to mid 90's (Get'm Get'm).
Prince's own One-eyed bass can be seen on display at Paisley Park.  It is featured in the guitars and bass book too.  You can see how he wore off the paint from the pickups to where you can hardly tell it's an EYE.  So awesome.  He didn't baby his gear, that's for sure!  (The last two photos in this listing are from Paisley Park archives and the guitar and bass book.)
