Lot of 5 Des Moines Register World War II Newspapers; 1939 Originals

$ 12.14

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Condition: Keeping in mind they are 82 year old newspapers, I would assess them as fair to poor condition. They are very fragile with tears along the seam where the paper folds and on paper edges. There is yellowing and a few stains, with frayed and folded edges. All intact and perfectly readable though.

    Condition-Some would say "Fair" and others would say "Poor " Condition for their 82 year old age. Fragile, with yellowing/stains, rough edges and light tears along fold and paper edges.  Nonetheless, they are intact and readable:
    (1) "Sink British Ship; 1400 Aboard" (watermark on right edge, rough edges, light tears and yellowing)
    (2) "Nazi Troops at Polish border" (ragged, lightly torn edges and it isn't folded cleanly across the middle)
    (3) "Lindbergh Hits Allies" (decent, with some frayed edges)
    (4) "3 Nazi Armies Invade Poland" (Very frayed and lightly torn top edges/fold and other light tears throughout, yellowing)
    (5) "Lost Army Safe in Warsaw" (The front and back page are torn cleanly for 5" from the right side where the paper folds across; yellowing and rough edges.
    It's difficult to asses the condition of 82 year old historic newspapers. Despite their condition, they are rare, historic documents.  Educational. Please zoom to see for yourself.  Sold as is.  No returns or refunds please.
