    Description

These cylinders were primarily used during World War II in the PT-19 and PT-26 Aircraft with the L-440 (also designated as 6-440) engines. The Fairchild PT-19 and PT-26 were American Fairchild Aircraft monoplane primary trainer aircraft that served with the
    United States
Army Air Forces, RAF and RCAF during World War II. These “original” Ranger Cylinders are in very nice condition. They have a yellow band around the barrel which usually indicates that they have a +20 oversize barrel. The part number is 7760-20. If you have a PT-19 or PT-26 you can have it as a spare. If not, and you are an aviation history enthusiast, it is a great piece to add to your collection, or, as I suggested above, give it away as a gift to someone who is an enthusiast. You could even make a Lamp out of it and put it next to a model of a PT-19 or PT-26. Not many people have one of these to show off. Ranger engines were mainly produced for Fairchild's family of training aircraft in the mid 1930s.
