    Description

If you're looking for a Cougar that is a blast to drive, gets lots of thumbs up, with no worrying about tarnishing an insanely overpriced trailer queen, this is it. My wife is selling her 1968 Cougar XR7. This is a great looking car in an iconic color. She drives it all over town and it is always an attention-getter and conversation starter.
This Cougar has been modified under previous ownership. The motor is a 351 Windsor with a Holley carb and MSD ignition. An aluminum radiator has been installed. The transmission is a 4-speed automatic overdrive with limited slip rear end with 3.50 gear ratio. This was originally a factory a/c car, but the underhood components are missing. The car starts right up with one pump of the gas pedal, runs well (and strong) and the transmission shifts properly. The battery is brand new.
Rolling stock is American Racing polished 17" wheels with brand new tires. A Borgeson power steering unit has been fitted along with Stop Tech slotted front disk brakes.
The interior features the high-line trim that the XR7 models are known for, with the addition of a new aftermarket wood steering wheel. A custom audio system has been installed. This car has factory tilt wheel.
The paint looks very nice, but is not perfect. There are a few blemishes here and there, which means you can enjoy the car without having to worry about getting a blemish in the paint or checking the weather forecast. There are no rust bubbles apparent under the vinyl top and the body overall is very rust-free. The headlight doors have been converted to electric operation and the sequential tail lights have been converted to digital. The paint on the deck lid looks like it could use a color sand and buff. The remainder of the paint is very shiny and presentable.
The speedometer currently reads 55,468 miles, but the true mileage is unknown. Included with the sale is a box of documents and service receipts dating back to 1980.
For a great looking car that is fun to drive, this is it. You won't see yourself coming and going in a Cougar, and the XR7 trim level is even more desirable. You'll likely be the only Cougar at the cruise-in or car show and you'll certainly stand out from the Mustangs and Camaros.
Save on shipping costs with a car that is centrally located in Springfield, MO. No need to have your new car shipped all the way across the country.
