I imagine if youre looking at this, I dont need to tell you about the origin and history of the 63 k code. I have no idea on how to set a value, I just know 10k isnt going to buy it..engines alone are more. This is a one owner car with 40k original miles. It doesnt look it as it sat outside before the owner built a garage and started storing it there. Even then in the 80s he would only start it and run it for a bit before putting it away. Last time it was registered was in 1991. The engine has never been messed with besides what you see incorrect and it appears he liked going to Montgomery Wards for servicing, oil changes, even a Montgomery Wards voltage regulator is currently on it but did use ford later after purchasing the car for the ford reverb 15b64670a02 in the trunk, I had no idea they were around. I bought this car from the lady he willed it to and took care of him the last decade of his life and she lived next door. I know all about it she said and yes she knows what it is. I drove this car last week to move it around so took a drive around the neighborhood. The engine needs tuned, brakes bled, wheels cylinders Im sure, and whatever else one might want to do whether keeping it as is, a general restoration, or a frame off. The car drives very very tight like it has less miles, as good as my 2k mile truck. My plan was to clean the eng compartment up after a tune, body work and paint, and just enjoy the car. It has the original engine in it and all the hard to find components or the ones you pay big money for if you can even find them if they are missing. Looks like it had a dash pad with the adhesive left behind. The car has the hipo exhaust manifolds, single exhaust, 4 speed, correct fan, heads, balancer, 9 inch, and distributor to name a few. Shelby used these engines and rear ends in the cobras moving away from the 260 back in 63. With only 76 known to exist and 200 made, yes its rare but so is a 79 pinto but Im not sure how many are out there as original despite the changes that are obvious. Question is, is it desirable? Ill let you decide. It has rust in the 63 fairlane places and has been painted in the past. The Pass side is worse in the quarter area above the wheel but it looks like its only through the top sheet metal and thats not a hole on the drivers rear quarter, its black primer. Look for both quarters above the wheels needing patches, and both fenders down low on the dog leg for rust. I dont see any more, the side trim has no dings, hubcaps are super nice, and trim is nice as well minus the rear 500 trim and trunk molding with a ding. Interior is as you see it and of course through the years some changes have been made. You can spot the chevy orange paint under the hood, the t handle shifter, etc. etc.. Hey we all did things when younger before we became so called experts...but who knew what was going to be collectible and Ive always said its their car they can do whatever they want with it. If youd like to see any pictures of anything, just ask. Im as transparent as youll find because I dont care if I sell it or not just a lot of cars sitting around and I cannot keep and or restore them all. My mind says yes but at my age my motivation says no. Make an offer, you could end up with what I call the one car Ill never find again or have one as rare as Ill ever have....
